You might be searching for kodak pixpro fz45 16mp compact alternatives if you need a different zoom range or form factor. The original FZ45 offers a 16MP sensor and 4x optical zoom, but it relies on AA batteries and lacks weather sealing. This design suits casual users who value convenience, yet it may not fit adventurers or those needing longer reach.
We selected these 6 options because their core specs overlap with the FZ45. Most share the same 16MP resolution and compact size, ensuring familiar handling. However, they introduce variations like 5x zoom, waterproofing, or different color options. These differences address specific needs, such as underwater photography or enhanced portability, while maintaining the simplicity you expect from a basic point-and-shoot camera.
Our top pick: Kodak PIXPRO Compact 16MP Camera.
How the Alternatives Compare
Kodak PIXPRO 5x Optical Zoom Camera
The Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 Black model increases your zoom range to 5x, compared to the FZ45’s 4x optical zoom. This extra reach helps you frame distant subjects more tightly without losing image quality. It weighs 3.7 ounces, making it slightly lighter than the FZ45’s 4.1-ounce body. The dimensions are also more compact, measuring 2.23 by 3.6 by 0.9 inches. You gain flexibility in framing for travel shots, though you may lose the convenience of AA batteries if this model uses internal power. It suits casual photographers who prioritize portability and a longer zoom range over the specific battery flexibility of the original.
Kodak PixPro WPZ2 Waterproof Camera
The Kodak PIXPRO WPZ2 in yellow adds significant durability to your shooting toolkit. It features a rugged design suitable for underwater and outdoor adventure photography. While it maintains the same 16MP resolution, it sacrifices the slim profile of the FZ45. The WPZ2 measures 4.06 by 2.06 by 2.62 inches and weighs 6.21 ounces. This makes it noticeably bulkier and heavier than the 4.1-ounce FZ45. You trade compact convenience for weather sealing and impact resistance. If you plan to shoot near water or in rough conditions, this model offers protection that the standard FZ45 cannot provide. It is the better choice for adventurers who need reliability in challenging environments.
Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 Bundle
The Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 Bundle in blue offers a 5x optical zoom, extending your reach beyond the FZ45’s 4x limit. It shares the 16MP resolution but adds a 28mm focal length specification for wider framing. The bundle configuration suggests additional accessories, though specific contents are not detailed here. It weighs 5 ounces, which is slightly heavier than the FZ45. This model targets casual photographers who want ease of use and portability. You get a versatile zoom range suitable for everyday snapshots and basic video recording. If you value a complete package with extended zoom capabilities, this bundle provides a practical upgrade over the standard FZ45 setup for travel and daily use.
Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 5x Zoom Camera
The Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 Black model is designed for casual vlogging and travel clips. It features a 5x optical zoom and 16MP resolution, offering more reach than the FZ45’s 4x zoom. The 28mm focal length provides a wide-angle view ideal for self-recording. It weighs 5 ounces, making it slightly heavier than the FZ45. This camera prioritizes straightforward operation without complex settings, fitting users who want simple controls. You gain better zoom flexibility for vlogging compared to the original. If you need a portable camera for video content creation with easy handling, this model offers practical features for casual creators who do not require advanced technical adjustments.
Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 5x Optical Zoom Camera
The Kodak PIXPRO FZ55 in red provides a 5x optical zoom, surpassing the FZ45’s 4x range. It maintains the 16MP resolution and includes a 28mm focal length for wider shots. This model is designed for beginners who value portability and ease of use. It lacks the AA battery option of the FZ45, relying instead on internal power. The red color offers a distinct visual choice for those who prefer bold aesthetics. You gain extra zoom capability for travel snapshots without the bulk of advanced systems. This camera is a solid choice for everyday use, offering reliable performance for casual photographers who want a simple, colorful, and portable device for capturing daily moments.
Kodak PixPro WPZ2 Waterproof Camera
The Kodak PIXPRO WPZ2 in blue offers rugged durability for underwater and rough outdoor photography. It shares the 16MP resolution but is significantly larger and heavier than the FZ45. The dimensions measure 2.48 by 0.98 by 3.74 inches, and it weighs 6.21 ounces. This makes it much bulkier than the 4.1-ounce FZ45. You trade compactness for weather sealing and impact resistance. If you engage in water sports or shoot in challenging environments, this model provides essential protection. It suits adventurers who prioritize durability over portability. The blue color adds a distinct look, while the rugged build ensures reliability where standard cameras might fail.
